Chihiro Sawada

Chihiro Sawada’s wrestling pedigree is among the very best in the women’s atomweight MMA division.

The Japanese powerhouse won numerous wrestling championships in her home country before transitioning to MMA in 2021.

Sawada’s skills proved to be useful under mixed martial arts rules, as her relentless pace and ferocious ground-and-pound stylings led her to the Shooto Atomweight Title.

Her undefeated run on the Japanese circuit caught the attention of ONE Championship. In fact, she competed at one of the earliest ONE Friday Fights events in February 2023 and submitted Iran’s Sanaz Fayazmanesh.

A year later, Sawada officially joined the world’s largest martial arts organization with the intention of making waves in the talent-laden women’s atomweight division. 

With a win over Jihin Radzuan in her highly anticipated U.S. primetime debut at ONE Fight Night 20 this past March, the Japanese grappling sensation showed that she has what it takes to work toward a crack at the ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Championship.
