Liam Harrison Predicts Lasiri Vs. Prajanchai II, Meksen Vs. Phetjeeja At ONE Friday Fights 46
Liam “Hitman” Harrison is always excited to see his fellow ONE Championship strikers throw down in elite-level matchups, and there will be a feast of action for the English legend at ONE Friday Fights 46: Tawanchai vs. Superbon.
The card is stacked with world-class Muay Thai and kickboxing battles this Friday, December 22, including a trio of World Title encounters featuring some of the most explosive names on the roster.
Harrison shared his thoughts on two of those clashes ahead of the colossal event at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Joseph Lasiri vs. Prajanchai II
Joseph “The Hurricane” Lasiri and Prajanchai PK Saenchai will rematch to unify the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.
In their first bout, Lasiri shocked the world when he forced the Thai superstar to retire on his stool at the end of round three, picking up the biggest win of his career along with the division’s gold.
Since then, his only appearance was a defeat to Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title last November.
In the meantime, Prajanchai has built a three-fight winning streak over tough opponents, including a KO of the iconic Sam-A Gaiyanghadao to win the ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.
Harrison thinks that impressive run of form will weigh things in the Thai’s favor:
“Lasiri has been out for a long time. Prajanchai’s been active, and he’s going to want to put a serious display on here. He said he was ill last time, and it looked like he’d sort of quit a bit.
“But he’s been active and winning at the highest level. He’s been looking very good, very dangerous, very strong, so I’ll go with him this time.”
Phetjeeja Vs. Anissa Meksen
Another thrilling contest pits two forces of nature against one another for the ONE Interim Atomweight Kickboxing World Title.
Thai phenom “The Queen” Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom will face French-Algerian legend Anissa “C18” Meksen for the belt, with reigning titleholder Janet Todd currently on the sidelines.
Both athletes have been in destructive form in ONE, posting a series of dominant victories. Phetjeeja has gone 4-0 with four stoppages, while Meksen is 3-0 with a TKO and two one-sided decisions.
However, “The Queen” has built her record solely in Muay Thai, while Meksen has much more experience in kickboxing – and Harrison believes that will be the biggest factor this Friday:
“Under kickboxing rules, I’m favoring Meksen. She’ll know how to flow and put the combinations together better, and how to score better. Has Phetjeeja ever had a kickboxing fight in her life? Maybe she’ll struggle a bit under the kickboxing format, although she’s an absolute beast.
“The rhythm, the scoring, it’s all a bit different. So, under kickboxing rules, I’m picking Meksen. Under Muay Thai rules, I’d go with Phetjeeja.”
