Alex “Little Rock” Silva

Former ONE Strawweight World Champion Alex Silva is one of just a few athletes on the planet to win World Titles in more than one sport. After conquering the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by capturing a Copa de Mundo BJJ World Championship, Silva turned his attention to the cage and went on a stellar run of success to become one of the best strawweights in the world.

If it were not for the adversity he had to overcome in life, Silva might never have accomplished so much. Born several months premature, the Brazilian overcame the odds to survive, but things did not get easier. He had to face the demons of bullying growing up due to his small stature, but luckily he found martial arts, with his first experience coming via Bruce Lee films. Soon he took up a host of different classes, including kung fu and capoeira, to learn how to defend himself.

However, it was not until he was 13 that his life would change forever. Upon seeing for himself the effectiveness of BJJ against larger and stronger opponents, “Little Rock” was hooked and dedicated himself to his new passion. He went on to win numerous tournaments and competitions and reached the very pinnacle of the grappling world. Now a third-degree black belt, the Evolve product has put his submission prowess to devastating effect in ONE Championship and once captured the ONE Strawweight World Title in December 2017.
