Full Card Revealed For ONE Friday Fights 63 On May 17
ONE Friday Fights 63 looks set to deliver another action-packed card live in Asia primetime on May 17.
Ten blistering Muay Thai battles make up most of the weekly event at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, with a pair of MMA matchups opening the show in Bangkok, Thailand.
At the top of the bill, Yodphupa Wimanair will take on Soner “Golden Boy” Sen in a must-win bantamweight Muay Thai encounter.
After winning the Road to ONE Thailand tournament, Yodphupa went on a tear with four straight victories on the global stage, including a pair of emphatic stoppages.
However, the 20-year-old breakout star has struggled since posting his most recent win last June. He has dropped three losses in a row, albeit competitively, that have stolen his momentum.
Yodphupa is eager to get back on the winning track to resume his charge toward the bantamweight elite, but Sen will be a tough obstacle.
“Golden Boy” also got off to a stunning start in ONE, notching up back-to-back KO wins over experienced rivals in Kongklai Annymuaythai and Otop Or Kwanmuang.
Sen had his streak snapped in a grueling three-rounder against Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon, but a win over Yodphupa would put him right back on track.
Another interesting battle for aficionados of “the art of eight limbs” is the fourth scheduled bout between Sagaengarm Jitmuangnon and Chatpichit SorSorToipadriew.
Chatpichit went ahead at 2-1 in the series after the pair duked it out in a three-round thriller last April, and Sagaengarm would love to level the scores with his old rival.
If their previous encounters give any indication of what to expect, fans had better be prepared for edge-of-the-seat action from the first bell.
Other notable Muay Thai bouts will see former Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Rak Erawan back in action against Brazil’s Nicolas Leite Silva and Myanmar slugger Sulaiman Looksuan face Japan’s Tomoki Sato.
In the MMA ranks, 10-0 Suleyman “Sultan” Suleymanov of Azerbaijan meets Kyrgyzstan’s Kazakbai Tilenov and England’s David Cooke battles Japan’s Kohei Takegami in a clash of debuting featherweights.
