Focus Vs. Stephen Irvine Headlines ONE Friday Fights 70 On July 12, Full Card Revealed
The world’s largest martial arts organization will return to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, for another action-packed installment of ONE Friday Fights on July 12.
Set to air live in Asia primetime, ONE Friday Fights 70 will set off fireworks from the opening bout all the way up to the heart-racing headline attraction.
In the main event, Scottish knockout artist Stephen “El Matador” Irvine will collide with Thailand’s own Focus PK Wor Apinya in an explosive 130-pound catchweight Muay Thai tilt.
Boasting a 26-4 record with a trio of victories at ONE Friday Fights, Irvine has proven himself to be an elite puncher capable of putting any man on the canvas in the blink of an eye.
Meanwhile, Focus needed less than 90 seconds to score a highlight-reel stoppage in his promotional debut this past April. Now, the 19-year-old rising star is on the hunt for his 51st career victory.
A win for either man at ONE Friday Fights 70 would do wonders for his climb toward a coveted six-figure contract with ONE Championship.
Before that, two surging Thai scrappers will square off in a 130-pound catchweight Muay Thai contest, as ET Wankhongohm MBK goes toe-to-toe with Yodthongthai Sor Sommai.
Both men will come into the bout riding two-fight winning streaks and, given each athlete’s blend of world-class technique and fearless aggression, fans can look forward to an all-out war.
Lower on the card, Abdallah Ondash and Chokpreecha PK Saenchai – both undefeated at ONE Friday Fights – will battle in a can’t-miss strawweight Muay Thai showdown.
At just 23 years old, Lebanon’s Ondash has built an impressive 20-1 career record that includes four thrilling victories in ONE. If he’s able to make it five straight on Friday night, he would be even closer to the highly coveted six-figure contract.
Chokpreecha, however, has different plans. The 32-year-old veteran owns 102 career victories, finds himself at 2-0 in ONE, and comes into the matchup fresh off a sensational first-round knockout at ONE Friday Fights 62.
And in more 130-pound catchweight Muay Thai action, undefeated 21-year-old Russian prodigy Amir “The Tiger” Abdulmuslimov looks to build on his spectacularly dominant promotional debut when he takes on respected Thai veteran Petnamngam PK Saenchai in a showdown designed for white-knuckle action.
Also, unbeaten powerhouse Gadzhimurad Amirzhanov will lock horns with Brazilian finisher Matheus “Guiado por Deus” Pereira in an intriguing lightweight MMA scrap.
Russia’s Amirzhanov is an imposing physical specimen with dangerous skills in all areas of combat. However, he’s in for the toughest test of his career against Pereira, who has scored three stoppage wins in as many appearances at ONE Friday Fights.
